Frequently Asked Questions

Where do Portrait Sessions take place?

Portrait Sessions take place at our private Honolulu studio. The studio is located on the third floor of our building and is accessible by stairs only. If you have any questions about accessibility for you or your dog, please don't hesitate to ask—we're happy to help.

My dog won't sit still. Can they still be photographed?

Absolutely. Most dogs don't arrive knowing how to pose, and they don't need to. Our portrait sessions are relaxed and tailored to your dog's personality, allowing us to create beautiful artwork through patience, experience, and perfect timing.

My dog is a senior. Can they still participate?

Yes. We regularly photograph senior dogs and those with mobility limitations, and we also have experience with dogs who have hearing and/or vision impairments. We'll work at a pace that's comfortable for your dog and adapt the session to their individual needs.

Can we be in some of the portraits?

Absolutely. While dogs are always the heart of the experience, many families choose to be included in a few portraits together.

How long does the experience take?

Your Portrait Session appointment typically lasts about an hour, which includes a tour of our studio to get acquainted with our portrait finishes. Most clients spend approximately 60-90 minutes during their Design Consultation appointment via Zoom, which typically occurs within a week after the session.

When will we see our portraits?

We'll schedule your Design Consultation after your Portrait Session. During this appointment, you'll experience your portraits for the first time, explore our portrait finishes and framing options, and select the artwork you'd like to enjoy in your home.

Is there any obligation to purchase artwork?

No. Reaching out through this form simply begins a conversation. We'll answer your questions, learn more about your vision, and help determine whether Lubera Portraits is the right fit for you before anything is reserved.

Your treasure awaits.
